The name River Delta Capital symbolises the river delta of the Netherlands where the rivers of the Rhine, the Meuse and the Scheldt meet to create one of the most fertile lands in the world.

It proved a fertile ground for innovation and trade: large land reclamations and overseas discoveries were jointly financed and led to the rise of the first stock market in the world in Amsterdam. It created an entrepreneurial spirit and international connection where large projects with high potential were financed by spreading risks.
